Scarborough's facelift reaps property benefits
West Australians are rediscovering Scarborough after the $100 million redevelopment has injected new life into the beachfront destination.
Within one short year, Scarborough has launched the iconic beachfront swimming pool, whale themed playground, international competition-grade skate bowl, rock-climbing walls, half basketball court, a Surf lifesaving watchtower, and new restaurants.
The property market is receiving confidence from buyers, with positive effects of the redevelopment sweeping through the suburb. Although Scarborough is surrounded by affluent suburbs such as City Beach and Trigg, it is still more affordable than both. Buyers are certainly taking advantage of the affordability, close proximity to the CBD and beachfront destination, before prices inflate.
Griffin’s project The Residence, radically complements Scarborough’s redevelopments and future plans. The Residence is located at an elevated position on Scarborough Beach Road, with views of the Indian Ocean, 1.5 kilometres away.
“The Residence Project is now blossoming as the injection of redevelopment capital and new and exciting infrastructure has enlivened Scarborough. Our fourteen attractive apartments are now ready to be built after we successfully received Development Approval. These charming apartments will appeal to local and overseas investors due to the flexibility of the lifestyle” said Greg Devine, Director of Griffin Projects Group.
Scarborough’s buzz doesn’t stop here, as a $400 million project has been approved for the creation of a 43 and 33 storey twin tower development. The twin towers will make a significant contribution to the ongoing transformation of Scarborough, creating thousands of jobs, attracting international tourists, and putting Scarborough beach on the world map.
Acting CEO Sean Henriques, stated that the redevelopment cements Scarborough as Australia’s best beachfront destination, whilst delivering collaborative nature for Local and State governments to launch the immense project together.
