Perth’s growing city skyline
March 27, 2020
Perth’s skyline is continuing to evolve with Elizabeth Quay set to be the home of Perth’s tallest twin skyscrapers. This proposed $367 million mixed-use tower development, if approved, will be an iconic landmark in the city offering a combination of hotel, retail residences and office space in the two towers.
REX Architecture, a recognised leading New York design and architecture firm is working alongside executive architect Hassell to develop the new Brookfield project originally known as PERTH+. Although the design received positive feedback from the City, Development WA and the Government architect, there has been some push back on the concept with staff from the City of Perth believing the proposed design is “not memorable enough” and does meet the expectations for a landmark development for the city.
This world class development will provide economic stimulus, significant benefits for the community, public activation and amenity as well as meet business demand. Voting will take place next week by commissioners on whether to recommend the project go ahead to Development WA.
