Dorado oil field set to boost WA’s oil and gas industry
October 21, 2019
A new oil field discovery brings great news to WA’s oil and gas industry
Carnarvon Petroleum’s Dorado oil field in the North West Shelf has one of the highest oil rate flows from any appraisal test spudded in the NW shelf.
“It’s going to be great for Carnarvon and Santos but with a bit of luck here, I think it’s going to be quite exciting for WA more broadly, and potentially that whole Pilbara Region” said Carnarvon Petroleum boss Adrian Cook
Dorado could be part of a new oil and gas basin and if funding goes well, the field could be in production as early as 2024.
This is a brief summary of the article “Dorado oil discovery ‘tip of the iceberg” by Stuart McKinnon in The West Australian Wednesday 9 October 2019.
