Off-the-plan buyers and investors are eligible to receive 75% off their stamp duty costs up to the value of $50,000 when a pre-construction contract is signed between 3 October 2019 and 23 October 2021 to purchase an off-the-plan apartment. See the full terms and conditions.

How long have I got?

To qualify, buyers and investors must sign a pre-construction building contract between 3 October 2019 and 23 October 2021. Construction of the apartment development must be completed within 36 months of the pre-construction contract being entered into. Once the apartment development commences construction, buyers and investors are no longer eligible for 75% stamp duty rebate up to the value of $50,000.

Is there a cap?

There is no cap on the purchase price or value of the apartment contract.

Under Construction – Up To $25,000

Who qualifies: Investors, First Homebuyers, Downsizers and other Owner Occupier buyers.

As of 4th June 2020, off-the-plan buyers and investors are eligible to receive 75% off their stamp duty costs up to the value of $25,000 to assist in the purchase of an apartment that is currently under construction or complete (as long as you are the original owner), if the purchase is made between 4 June 2020 and 31 December 2020. $25,000 HomeBuilder Grant

Who qualifies: First Homebuyers, Downsizers and other owner occupier buyers

Grant details

This is a limited-time only grant of $25,000 for owner-occupiers to utilise towards the cost of building a new home, substantially renovating an existing home or buying an off-the-plan apartment.

To access the HomeBuilder grant, you must meet the following criteria:

  • You must be intent on buying or building a brand-new property as an owner-occupier i.e. you intend on living in the property. Property investors do not qualify for this grant.
  • You must be an Australian citizen aged 18 or over. Non-residents, permanent resident’s or New Zealand Citizens do not qualify.
  • Your annual income must meet the following criteria:
    • $125,000 for individual applicants, or less than $200,000 for a couple based on your 2018-19 tax returns or later.

How long have I got?

To qualify, buyers must sign a contract to buy an off-the-plan apartment on or after 4th June 2020 and on or before 31 December 2020. Construction must commence within three months of the contract date. Extensions may be applicable and are determined on a case by case scenario.

Is there a cap?

  • Applicants must build a new home or purchase a new property off-the-plan as a principal place of residence valued at up to $750,000 (including land); or
  • Renovate an existing principal place of residence, with renovations valued at between $150,000 and $750,000. The dwelling must not be valued at more than $1.5m before the renovation.

$20,000 WA State Building Bonus Grant

Who qualifies: Investors, First Homebuyers, Downsizers and other Owner Occupier buyers.

The WA State Building Bonus grant is available for eligible buyers and investors who enter into an off-the-plan contract to purchase a new residential townhouse or home as part of a single-tier development on a strata plan or other land survey type – it cannot be part of a multi-tiered development. To qualify, buyers must sign a contract to buy an off-the-plan contract between 4 June 2020 and 31 December 2020. Construction must commence within six months of the contract date and you must provide evidence that construction has commenced. $10,000 First Home Owners Grant

Who qualifies: First Homebuyers

Grant details

This is a one-off payment of $10,000 to assist first home buyers to buy or build a new residential property for use as their principal place of residence, including off-the-plan apartments. To qualify for this grant, you must be a first homeowner, purchasing or building a new home. How long have I got?

To qualify for this grant, you must apply within 12 months of the completion date. Eligible buyers must occupy the home as your principal place of residence for a continuous period of at least six months commencing within 12 months of settlement if purchasing a home, or within 12 months from the date of completion if building a home.

Is there a cap?

There is a purchase cap of $750,000 for all Perth metropolitan areas (South of the 26th parallel).
