Restrictions lifted and a flattened curve makes WA the best place to be right now.
May 15, 2020
WA Premier Mark McGowan is eager to get West Australians back to work after releasing the states highly anticipated roadmap out of its COVID-19 lockdown.
The Coronavirus curve may have been flattened immensely but lifting the restrictions without the virus resurfacing is a trickier task. From May 18th cafes and restaurants will reopen and can hold up to 20 people as long as they are seated, eat a meal and adhere to the 4spm rule.
Regional borders will loosen also to allow tourists in and circulate cashflow for WA as the Premier encouraged West Australians to explore the state and start spending again. WA’s North, being a part of Stage Three, is remaining closed until mid-June with hints it could be sooner.
Frustrating as it may be to not be able to go the a pub just for a pint West Australians need to remember that seven weeks ago there was fear of losing loved ones and overwhelmed hospitals, therefore in contrast to other countries whose death toll continuously rises our ‘island within an island’ is a better place than anywhere to be right now.
